TFS duo (Herman and Penter) met up with one of favorite buddy AJ Dimarucot of Collision-Theory on Halloween. AJ came to Hong Kong with his wife and kid so we treated him with some local Chinese dinner. It was fun meeting with him, we chat about tees, emptees, and karaoke in Hong Kong/Philippines. Perroquet, a recent body of work by the Norwegian fashion photographer Sølve Sundsbø. Feted for his striking editorial and campaign imagery, here Sundsbø has moved into new territory, inspired by a lifelong fascination with science photography, nature documentaries and copies of The National Geographic.

With the parroquet as its central focus, the intriguing study comprises eight film shorts and a selection of photographs, each of which depict the bird mid-flight, in all its glory

Photographer Michelangelo Di Battista and artist Tina Berning present the results of their creative collaboration with ‘FACE/project’ in the group show ‘Fashion’ at the gallery CAMERA WORK. Over 250 works from 66 photographers of the 20th and 21st Centuries will document trends in fashion photography over the decades. Hybrids from photography and painting by Michelangelo Di Battista and Tina Berning round out the distinctive positions of the extensive show and successfully visualize the wide-ranging orientation of fashion photography on art.

For two months, limited editions of the works of classics such as Edward Steichen and Man Ray to Horst P. Horst, Irving Penn and Richard Avedon as well as contemporaries including Steven Meisel, Ellen von Unwerth,
Michelangelo Di Battista and Tina Berning will be on view.

Designboom just announced the winners of their Green Earth Design Competition and the grand winner is Ji Yoon Yang from Korea. According to Ji, Environment movement such as the action to combat desertification is often pictured as difficult and huge thing to do, but actually the start is derived from the small practices of people.

This fact is going to be expressed symbolically through this greenish fingerprint. You and me, including all the small practices of everybody and promises save the trees and further, the earth. The action of stamping the greenish fingerprint on the card has two meanings. The completed pop-up card will play a role as reminding eco-friendly behavior in people’s daily lives as well as a design piece with decorative purpose.

2008 iF Communication Golden Award Winner Kim Ji-Hwan, the art director of Zero Per Zero, produced stunning poster inspired by various subway station map.

The best part of the design is the poster combine with calendar to make it a very useful item to have. We are longing to see more design coming from Zero Per Zero.

The UK government just released the military reports of UFO sighting between 1986 -1992 a week ago. This is the second batch of UFO files released to the National Archives by the Ministry of Defence - the first instalment was released in May 2008. Highlights include the near collision of a passenger jet and UFO in Kent and the pilots of a US Air Force jet being ordered to shoot down a UFO over East Anglia.
I always believe they are out there. You can find them all over Youtube. We may not have chance to see a real flying sausage, but we do have UFO sighting in Design World. Let’s go and check them out…….
